Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle, hands-on approach that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole body health and performance. Using a soft touch and pressure, practitioners release restrictions in the soft tissues that surround the central nervous system.

Our body tissues organize around the environments, energetically and physically, to which we subject them. How we manage emotional and physical stress, trauma, and tension dictates how our bodies manage these same forces and compensates for their presence. These changes cause distortions in the tissues of the body in the form of tension and compression. These forces form around the brain and spinal cord resulting in restrictions at the deepest level of our bodies. These restrictions limit healthy function and diminish physical potential and well being.

The CranioSacral therapist listens to the motion and rhythm of the cerebrospinal fluid pulsing within the body and uses this rhythm to locate distortions and restrictions. Once located, the therapist releases restrictions and normalizes the environment around the brain and spinal cord. This results in enhancing the body's ability to self correct and regulate itself. CranioSacral Therapy is able to alleviate a wide variety of dysfunctions from chronic pain and sports injuries to stroke and neurological impairment.

Our CranioSacral Practitioner

Michael is traditionally educated as a Chemist. He received his Bachelors of Science from The College of William & Mary in 2007 and his Masters of Polymer Science from The University of Connecticut in 2010. He now knows that his purpose and gifts are most beneficial in the world of helping and healing. Surprisingly, he would come to find that his traditional education would contribute to his understanding of the structure and function of the body.
