Combining our love of epsom salts, herbs and essential oils, we have created our signature foot floats to be paired with Reflexology sessions and other services at Vitality. We utilize the highest quality epsom salts and essential oils along with local and house grown herbs and flowers to treat your feet to a stress relieving experience.

Since the feet are rich with nerve endings and sweat glands, they are the ideal place in the body to detox and de-stress. There’s no denying that soaking your body or just your feet in hot or warm water is calming. By adding specific ingredients, a detox-oriented foot bath may also help reduce swelling, boost your immune system, and improve your overall health and mood. People who advocate for detoxing through the feet say that it can ease mental distress while improving sleep and overall well-being.

A combination of magnesium and sulfate, Epsom salt is a compound that can help flush toxins and heavy metals from your skin’s cells, reduce inflammation, increase circulation and ease muscle cramps and joint pain. As your feet absorb the magnesium, pain-reducing ions are released, relaxing your muscles and nerves and helping them function properly by regulating your electrolyte levels. The sulfate targets any harmful substances that need to be eliminated from your body.

Another method we utilize to help detox the feet is clay foot masks. Foot masks can soften skin and tackle many common ailments in the feet such as odor and skin conditions. We use bentonite clay for our masks, due to its naturally occurring positively charged ions that draw out negatively charged toxins, including those in pesticides and toxic metals. Other studies have found that Bentonite clay has properties that fight against mycotoxins and aflatoxins from mold.

Fights Fatigue

Epsom salt is easily absorbed by the skin and replenishes your body’s level of magnesium ions, which help your body by boosting serotonin in the brain, increasing energy and stamina, decreasing irritability and adrenaline, lowering blood pressure, increasing concentration and improving sleeping habits.

Softens and Beautifies

Anyone who’s had a pedicure knows that an essential step in the cosmetic process is soaking the feet in warm water. This helps reduce the presence and appearance of typical foot problems like calluses and dry, flaky skin.

Eliminates Toxins

Some experts believe that foot soaks containing bentonite clay and certain salts and minerals have the power to detox the body through a process called reverse osmosis, which pulls salt and harmful toxins from your body.

Boosts Immune System

Footbaths increase your overall body temperature, which can relieve muscle and mental tension, alleviate stress and increase white blood cell activity. All of this boosts your immune system, which prevents sickness and increases your overall health and wellbeing.

Increases Circulation

Soaking and cleansing your feet in hot water reduces inflammation and stimulates circulation, bringing congested blood to the dilated vessels in the feet and lower legs.

Heals Pain and Other Ailments

Hot water foot soaks have the power to alleviate pain in other parts of the body besides just the feet. Some of the conditions they have the ability to help include headaches, toothaches, pelvic pain and pelvic inflammatory disease, cramps, joint aches and pains, excessive perspiration, chest congestion and cold and flu symptoms like cough, nausea and chills.

Reduces stress

Footbaths are naturally soothing, and just one foot soak has the power to calm the mind and the body into a state of relaxed bliss. This improves cognitive function, helps boost creativity and work habits, leads to better sleep and improves your overall mood. Adding aromatherapy or essential oils to your foot bath can increase these health benefits, leading to ultimate tranquility and a wholly satisfying way to unwind after a stressful day.

improves mood

Foot baths have been thought to help with depression as they can decrease and/or completely eliminate tension, anger, confusion, hostility and anxiety.
