meet angela

Angela is a Licensed Massage Therapist bringing a deeply intuitive and connective approach to bodywork, blending myofascial release, lymphatic techniques, and therapeutic massage to help clients feel more balanced, supported, and at ease in their bodies.

Originally from Richmond, Angela studied jewelry design and metalsmithing at VCU before spending 15 years in New Orleans and five years living among the redwoods of Northern California, eventually returning to RVA in 2020. Her path has always been rooted in creativity, anatomy, and the human form, and she continues to refine her craft through ongoing education and hands-on training.

She has completed nine John Barnes-style Myofascial Release classes, is certified in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) and Post-Op MLD, and spent time in Thailand studying Thai massage and Thai abdominal massage techniques. Her work focuses on identifying and addressing the root causes of tension and dysfunction in the body, helping clients experience greater freedom, mobility, nervous system regulation, and overall wellness.

ANGELA’s APPROACH

“Listen to what the body has to say.”

Angela is particularly passionate about supporting women through midlife, peri-menopause, menopause, and post-menopause with care that supports both physical and emotional balance. Her sessions are especially supportive for those experiencing chronic pain, scar tissue restrictions, fluid retention, digestive sluggishness, nervous system dysregulation, and post-surgical recovery.
Her bodywork blends myofascial release, connective tissue techniques, compression therapy, hot stones, cupping, lymphatic drainage, and intentional abdominal work to encourage better circulation, digestion, mobility, and overall flow throughout the body. Her sessions are intuitive, therapeutic, and deeply intentional, with a focus on identifying and addressing the root causes of tension and restriction.

Q&A

What inspired your approach to massage and bodywork?
I’ve always been fascinated by the body, movement, and the human form. My background in art and jewelry design taught me to pay attention to detail, structure, and flow, which naturally translated into bodywork. I love helping people reconnect with their bodies and feel more freedom and ease in their everyday lives.

What types of clients do you especially enjoy working with?
I really connect with our midlife client base and love supporting women through peri-menopause, menopause, and post-menopause. I’m also passionate about helping clients with scar tissue, chronic pain, post-surgical recovery, digestive imbalance, and nervous system regulation. I especially enjoy supporting women with C-section scarring through intentional scar tissue work and abdominal massage to help encourage better digestion, pelvic floor balance, mobility, and overall comfort in the body.

What can clients expect during a session with you?
My sessions are intentional, therapeutic, and highly customized. I combine myofascial release, lymphatic work, connective tissue techniques, compression therapy, hot stones, cupping, and abdominal massage depending on what your body needs. I focus on helping the body release restriction and restore better balance and flow.

OUTSIDE THE SPA

A Taurus Sun, Leo Moon, and Sagittarius Rising, Angela’s self-care looks like traveling, exercising, yoga, meditation, red-light therapy, and sauna sessions. She loves spending time in or near the James River and feels most grounded when connected to nature. A lover of tea, gardening, tarot, and reading the I Ching, Angela is also deeply creative and enjoys drawing, illustrating, and finding inspiration through art and everyday life.

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL

“I didn’t realize how much tension I was carrying until I worked with Angela. I’ve had massages before, but this was completely different. Her myofascial release technique felt way more intentional and targeted, like she was actually listening to what my body needed. There were moments where I could literally feel things release that I didn’t even know were tight. It wasn’t always the typical ‘relaxing spa’ feeling, but in a good way. It felt productive. By the end, my body felt lighter, more aligned, and weirdly calmer mentally too. Angela has this calm, grounded presence that makes you trust her immediately. She explains what she’s doing, checks in without over-talking, and you can tell she really knows her craft. If you’re dealing with chronic tightness, stress, or just feel ‘off’ in your body, this is 100% worth it. I walked out feeling like a different person and am always looking forward to my next session.”
